Predicting the New Coaches around the NFL
The NFL has been interesting so far, many coaches are out and there could be more to go, but right now the vacancies open need to be filled and I wanted to try to guess who ends up filling the open vacancies, so let’s have some fun!
Cleveland Browns – The Browns need someone to control the lockeroom. They do not need a new head coach, they need to find a veteran, someone who has worked with quarterbacks, someone who is not going to let OBJ and company run him. Someone with ties to Dorsey and the front office, and I think their man is Mike McCarthy. McCarthy has worked with several solid quarterbacks in his days and let’s face it, he is a pretty solid coach. I think he can right the ship in Cleveland.
New York Giants – The Giants want a new and young guy, and I cannot blame them. They want an offensive minded coach and they should find one, they have a very good young quarterback and a very solid running back. Matt Rhule has interest in the Giants job and I cannot see how they do not hire him. The Panthers have interest, but if you could choose between the Panthers and Giants, where would you go? Exactly….
Washington Redskins – We know they are hiring Ron Rivera so that is that.
Carolina Panthers – Eric Bieniemy, the Panthers are a smart team and they have the best running back in the game. They turn to the man in Kansas City who has really turned things up for the Chiefs. Bieniemy would be huge for Christian McCaffrey and young wide out DJ Moore. The Panthers need an offensive minded coach and I think EB fits that mold perfectly.
Dallas Cowboys – Urban Meyer, yep I am going there. Cowboys make a splash and give the team some hope. Urban is one of the most successful head coaches in college football history. He has won three National Championship and was 83-9 as a coach at Ohio state before stepping down a year ago. If they do not go Meyer I could see them going after Lincoln Riley!
