Deerfield Beach WR committed to Georgia Tech dies in train accident

A 17-year-old football player who was set to start college at Georgia Tech in Atlanta next week has died, according to Georgia Tech officials.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a freight train hit Bryce Gowdy early Monday morning in his hometown of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Gowdy, 17, was taken to Broward Health North Hospital, where he died.
Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating. The cause and manner of death will be determined by Broward County’s medical examiner’s office.
The school released a statement Monday saying they are mourning the death of Bryce Gowdy.
