Diamond Talk: Jonah Williams, DE, Weber State | Rocky Mountain Rusher
Since landing at Weber State, Jonah Williams has been a starter for the Wildcats defense. The 6050, 275 pound pass rusher from Meridian, Idaho is a force off the edge and proving to NFL teams he deserves a shot on a 53 man roster.
Jonah is a two-time All-Big Sky performer and has played in all 39 games of his Wildcat career. He has 132 career tackles with 17 tackles for loss and 7.5 career sacks. He’s been a part of back-to-back Big Sky Championship teams and has advanced to the FCS Playoffs in all three seasons.
The Rocky Mountain High School star has been an immediate starter for the Wildcats and has been a huge addition to their defensive front.
He was a second team All-State player and a First Team All-Conference honoree as a Senior at Rocky Mountain High School under Coach Warr.
As a Freshman, Williams was named to Hero Sports FCS ALL-FRESHMAN Team as one of the top freshman in the country and one of only 5 from the Big Sky Conference mentioned.
This year, Jonah has 43 tackles, 8.5 tckles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
So far his 14 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss are super impressive. This kid has talent and we are paying attention Mr. Williams. Good Luck in April!
