South Carolina defensive back dismissed after reportedly beating up a female
South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp announced safety Jamel Cook was dismissed from the team after an arrest Friday night on a domestic violence charge.
“I really don’t have any other comment,” Muschamp said.
After being arrested by the Columbia Police Department, he sat basically a half a day in the jail cell. Cook is being accused of physically assaulting a female several times about the body during an argument.
Cook was a transfer from Southern California, and sat out the entire season last year. The 6030 defensive back from Miami, Florida was a reserve DB for the Gamecocks.
