Diamond Talk: Taeyler Porter, RB, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff | Immokalee’s Finest
Taeyler Porter the 5100 running back from Immokalee, Florida is a kid I have had my eye on for years. The UAPB standout running back has been doing a great job this year, and was a stud last year as well.
Porter started at ASA Miami Junior College after dominating high school football in southewest Florida. Over the past couple years for the Golden Lions, Porter has really turned into a solid RB1. The crazy thing is UAPB has two senior running backs that have been amazing in 2019. Both KeShawn Williams and Porter have been rumbling against teams defenses in the SWAC.
Porter was a dog last year for the Golden Lions rushing for 1,220 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns. He led the SWAC in rushing and finished 1st team SWAC and Box-To-Row All American. This year he was named to the pre-season Black College Football HOF Watch List.
Porter in 2018 was special, he ran for more than 100 yards seven times, and had 226 yards and 3 touchdowns against Grambling State.
Porter finished with four straight 100 yard games and it started against FIU an FBS school where he terrorized them for 167 yards and 1 touchdown.
This year in just four games Porter is already up to 336 yards on the ground and has scored 5 touchdowns. He is averaging 5.5 yards a carry and 84 yards a game. Remember his name because he is getting looks from NFL teams. He has also improved in the passing game this year. He is averaging 19.3 yards a reception and has a touchdown through the air.
