FBS Monsters: Week 1 Warriors from the FBS that caught the eye of NFL Draft Diamonds scouts

Kelly Bryant was chucking the ball all over the field this past weekend.  I am a big fan of his and wish they could have come out with a win against Wyoming but you cannot knock Bryant, he played lights out!

Kelly Bryant, QB, Missouri – Many thought Bryant would have rust from sitting but that was not the case. The former Clemson gunslinger threw for 423 yards and two touchdowns in his first game with the Tigers. They came up short against Wyoming, but you cannot knock the performance of Bryant who was an amazing asset to the Mizzou offense.

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State – I am a huge fan of this kid.  The 6010 running back was the best player on the field this past weekend. He had 250 yards All-Purpose and 221 yards on the ground against Oregon State and this week against McNeese he may go over 300 yards on the ground.  Hubbard is a special player and he can run and catch the ball out the back field.

Omar Bayless, WR, Arkansas State – The Redwolves wide out went bananas this week. The Laurel, Mississippi native had four receiving touchdowns against SMU.  While his team did not win, the 6030 wide out looked like an NFL wide receiver. He was catching everything thrown his way, and finished with 10 receptions for 132 yards and four, yes, four touchdowns.

Giovanni Ricci, TE, Western Michigan – Gio was on fire this week, the 6030 pass catcher from Loveland, Ohio had a great game against Monmouth. He scored 2 touchdowns and was 3 yards short of 100 on just 5 receptions.  Ricci is a senior that I am going to have to keep an eye on because he really looked good this first week for the Broncos.

David Woodward, LB, Utah State – This 6020 linebacker is a tackling machine.  He finished week 1 with 24 tackles and get this 18 solo tackles.  Utah State fell short to Wake Forest, but it was not because of D-Wood, this Olympia, Washington native has football instincts. He was around the ball every time WF touched it.  I like David Woodward, he is a beast!

Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State – There is a reason this kid is considered a top prospect. The 6050, 264 pass rusher is so smooth coming off the edge. He has a knack for getting after the QB and he displayed that this week earning 2.5 sacks and leading the FBS is sacks. Penn State dominated Idaho this week and damn near hung an 80 burger on them.  YGM is a lion on a field full of sheep.

Brandon Talton, K, Nevada – I was a specialist so you will always find one on my list and let’s face it, Talton is a beast and a kid everyone should be pulling for. He nailed a 56 yard game winning field goal and earned a scholarship. He was cold as ice and was so smooth in his delivery. This kid was one of the best stories of week 1 and for me not to add him would be wrong. Great Job Brandon!  Awesome kick! #TeamDiamond
