Would the Texans trade Jadeveon Clowney to the Seahawks for a running back?
Word on the street is Jadeveon Clowney wants to play in Seattle or Philadelphia, but the Miami Dolphins are the team who wants him the most. The crazy thing is Clowney is not very fond of the Dolphins.
We are hearing the Dolphins do not feel they will land the edge rusher but they really wanted him. The Eagles would be a pipe dream, and the crazy situation is in Seattle.
The Seahawks do not have much cap space, but the Texans really wanted to land a running back in return. The Seahawks could offer up Chris Carson in a package to the Texans but we have heard they prefer RB Rashaad Penny.
The Texans do not have much leverage at this point. Jadeveon Clowney has the power in this situation and if he does not sign his tender he cannot be traded. So the Texans are kind of over a barrel.
I think the teams know this and are trying to offer less and less to acquire the star pass rusher. Many feel Clowney will hold out and not play for under the tag. I think it would be very interesting if the Seahawks parted with a running back, but they do have J.D. McKissic and either Carson or Penny on the roster. The Seahawks are Clowney’s favorite destination but if Rashaad Penny is involved I doubt the Seahawks move because they are extremely high on him.
The Texans want an offensive tackle, a running back or a wide receiver from what we are hearing and they are not getting many offers.
