Former Carolina Panthers draft pick defensive lineman Kendrick Norton was in a horrible car accident this morning and is currently in critical condition.
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Norton, 22, is in critical condition at Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital’s trauma unit, but is expected to survive. Norton was involved in a multiple-car accident in which a vehicle rolled over, according to the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald.
Norton was in a pickup truck which hit a concrete barrier. A Maserati was also involved in the incident.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue brought a surgeon on-site.
Norton, who also played for the University of Miami, was picked up by the Dolphins from the Carolina Panthers’ practice team last year.
He was hoping to compete to make the Dolphins’ 53-man roster for the 2019 campaign. He was drafted by the Panthers in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft.
