Hidden Gems: Offensive Weaponry of the 2020 NFL Draft
Hidden Gems : Offensive Weaponry 2020 NFL Draft Sleepers by Matt Anzio
- RB Rakeem Darden
- @JB_KingJugg
- Fairmont State
- Height : 5 ‘ 10
- Weight : 225 lbs
Darden Has Technique, quickness & can carry the entire Defense on his back to the Endzone.
Stout with an ideal knee bend keeps a wide base low to the ground stance before the snap. Stays low with insane jump off the ball quick short area burst. Has the awareness maneuverability to find the gaps hits them hard.
Strong as a Silverback Gorilla running over defenders or breaking through tackles like a violent cyclone. Old school run it down your throat style the more carries he gets the better. Get him in goal line situations Darden will score on the regular. Like trying to stop a runaway box truck. Best get out the way or get run over like a squirrel during rush hour traffic on the FDR. Lowers his shoulder & lays the smackdown on DB’s or LB’s in the path of destruction.
In all seriousness he didn’t have huge numbers last yr with just 360 yds on only 66 carries. Did have 7 TD’s though & can really strive with more carries this year. Think he can easily be a double digit TD prospect this Senior season.
He is an exciting tough back that would benefit in the pass game to boot has the body & technique to be a sufficient blocker in the big leagues.
Give him 100 plus carries throw it to him 20 -30 times, let’s see what he got. Believe he will more than double his production with less than twice the load. Can have a huge year this coming season for a Fairmont squad on the come up.
Excited to see him with an extended role this season Darden is ready to rumble.

- Mount Union
- Height: 6 ‘ 2
- Weight: 215 lbs
DIV 3 Championship WR That Can Ignite The Jets After The Catch.
Can catch the ball in tight coverage with concentration vision strong hands & flexibility. Great extension vertical ability secures the ball ball catching away from body. Strong body frame athletic muscular but lean wide out. Route running technician that works non stop to get open. Always giving 100% every play in every game. That has above beyond average ball reaction with the knack for making the big play.
A 2nd team All Pro WR, All OAC First Team, The Ed Sherman Award for the top receiver in his conference. He had 55 catches for 927 yds & 14 TD’s in 2018. Had a 151 yds with 2 scores against Baldwin Wallace alone.
Div 3 powerhouse Champion Mount Union has been producing some talent Hill is no exception to this rule . Going into his Senior year a big year could propel him up boards almost as fast as he moves with the ball in his hands. In the open field he is like the road runner can leave the defenders in a cloud of dust like the Wily Coyote.
Made the best catch in the game in the DIv 3 Championship literally catching the ball deflected off the back of the DB’s head. Going on to win the game & the DIv 3 title expect big things from Hill this coming season.

Drops Back Fast & Fluent With Little Wasted Motion.
Gets set drops goes through his progressions makes some accurate throws extremely urgently. Finds the open target hits them with ease can put a nice touch on the ball or throw darts if that is what is needed. He can diagnose a defense normally before he even snaps the ball. Strong throwing arm had a career long 76 yd pass vs UAB.
Seems in his environment under center as a signal call natrai movement think he is outstanding in the 2 step drop quick hitters. Shines in a quick paced Offensive scheme which is the way Championships are initially won.
Had the most total TD’s for FIU in the programs history with 27 in 2018. Also Had the highest pass efficiency with a 157.6 . Was the Conference USA New Comer of The year & C- USA Honorable mention. On the converted Johnny Unitas Golden Arm watchlist this past year.
Had a career high 5 pass TD’s vs Toledo 10/2016 & a career high 389 yds vs Miami (Ohio). Also had 291 yds & 3 TD’s vs UTSA in his Junior outing.

Try to have a little bit of everything on these mixed Offensive Weaponry version of Hidden Gems. After highlighting a physical back like Darden thought it would be fun to have more of a scat type change of pace RB.
After consideration feel McCrary fits that mold but adds toughness as well but because of his versatility its the kind of player you can run more to the outside, tosses, sweeps or draws. Secondly he add an extra dimension in the pass game. Can throw him some short passes watch him get some chunk yardage or even line him up in the slot or wide create mismatches all over the place.
Had 88 carries for 724 yds 8 TD’s last season. Having also 28 catches, 191 yds & adding another 2 scores as a pass catcher.
He has already caught the eye of some NFL scouts on the NFL preseason watch list. Going into his Senior season think the perception among the football brain trust or the powers that be is we might have 1000 yd rusher coming out of little old Abilene Christian in football loving Texas.
Although only 200 lbs built like a rock at almost 6 foot can add some extra pounds the way the NFL often does. Short area quickness long speed stays tight with the instincts to find his way to move the sticks.

High Football IQ can diagnose plays well. Transitioning or putting himself in the right position to win the play. Whether it be the battle off the line, on the block or after the catch.
Savage warrior with the scrappy nature toughness like the great Carolina Panther Steve Smith. Plays with that chip on his shoulder. With the edge the heart determination true sleeper stars are made of.
Blocks like Beast which can come in handy in the pass game or on ST. Can lay a defender flat on his back on a solid pass block or return block in the return game.
Think he returned the ball more when he played at the JUCO level & was ranked top 5 in the country. Would love to see him get back to that his Senior season at ACU.
Nice sideline awareness can use the sideline like a tightrope with superior balance awareness to get yards or take it to the house. Intelligent route runner with the toughness to fight his way open or for the football.
Tracks the ball like ON – Star adjusts to the ball velocity makes the grab with his strong grip. Can catch the ball in clutter bounce off defenders after the catch for the extra yards.
