Former Ohio State DB Derjuan Elston-Gambrell shot and killed on 4th of July

Former Ohio State defensive back Derjuan Elston-Gambrell was shot and killed on the Fourth of July in his hometown, according to a report from WTOL.
Police reportedly responded to a shooting in central Toledo and found Gambrell suffering from a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Authorities arrested Timothy Simmons, Gambrell was the boyfriend of Simmons sister. He admitted to the shooting and was taken into custody and charged with murder.
Gambrell was a member of 2011 Ohio State recruiting class as a three-star cornerback.
He redshirted his first season in Columbus but was dismissed from the team by head coach Urban Meyer for “violation of team rules”.
