Sierra College football player shot and killed
Police in Northern California are investigating the killing of a college football player from Alaska who was fatally shot during a teammate’s farewell party.
Chancelor Fields-Colbert of Sierra College was shot Sunday at a party in Fair Oaks, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) north of San Francisco. He was taken to a hospital where he died, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 6020 cornerback Fields-Colbert was a rising star from Alaska. He was a good player who was starting to come into his own for the Wolverines.
The Sierra College football team is mourning the loss of their teammate. Many of them paid respects at a memorial on the campus in his honor.
