Division 2 QB dismissed for drunkenly crawling into bed with a stranger
Peyton Zabel a 19-year-old quarterback from Augustana University has been kicked off the team this week after he pleads guilty to lesser charges, after an arrest back in May.
Zabel was accused of going into another student’s room at night and crawling into bed with her.
Peyton Zabel, 19, pleaded guilty to a simple assault, entering or surreptitiously remaining in a building and purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, court records show. All are misdemeanors offenses.
The felony charge against Zabel, first-degree burglary, was dropped.
Zabel was arrested on May 11 after police said he drunkenly walked into a woman’s unlocked room at 4:30 a.m. on Augustana’s campus and got into her bed before passing out.
