NFL Draft

Free Agency phase three has begun!!!

Eric Berry is a veteran that could be signed now that Phase 3 of Free Agency has begun. I would not be surprised if this guy is picked up soon.

Compensatory picks have become an important factor in the way teams handle free agency. Today is the day that Free Agency kicks into third gear.

Today at 4 p.m. ET, teams can sign unrestricted free agents without hurting their standing in the league’s compensatory-pick formula for 2020. And while most of you may not be paying attention, some of the NFL’s best teams have been.

This is really when teams pay the most attention to veterans because they do not want to lose a draft pick in the coming year. The Ravens, Patriots and several other teams look forward to these picks.

The NFL will not announce the compensatory picks awarded for the 2020 NFL Draft until well after the 2019 season is over and likely in late February.

While it sounds crazy, the Patriots were the first team to really finalize a deal with a veteran after 4pm. They are expected to sign former small school offensive tackle Jared Veldheer.
