Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Buccaneers are shopping DT Gerald McCoy hard, and we found five teams that could use him bad

Imagine if the Buccaneers could land a starting quarterback for Gerald McCoy? We feel they could do it, but will they? They are desperately trying to trade him as we speak.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are shopping defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and we are hearing they want a first in return for him. The Buccaneers may not be able to get a first round pick in return for him, but what if they could land a Franchise Quarterback? Let’s look at a few interesting trade possibilities to help the Buccaneers trade Gerald McCoy.

Oakland Raiders – The Raiders have four picks in the top 35 of the 2019 NFL Draft, and let’s face it, pick 35 is a tempting pick for anyone. The Buccaneers defensive tackles are suspect, and this would be an immediate upgrade. Gruden has ties to the Buccaneers as well, so this move does make sense. The big question though is do the Raiders want him?

New York Giants – The Giants need a franchise quarterback and they also want a pass rusher/penetrator. Could McCoy be a guy that makes the Giants trade the 17th overall pick to the Buccaneers for McCoy? The Buccaneers want a first for McCoy but let’s face it I do not see anyone willing to part with a first unless it is the New England Patriots. To me, I could see the Patriots throwing out a first round pick because they won it all last year.

Los Angeles Chargers – Chargers lost Darius Philon and currently have three defensive tackles on their roster. McCoy would be an amazing fit on the Chargers, but they may have to give up a first for him. The Chargers pick is later in the first round and let’s be honest there will not be a defensive tackle of his caliber sitting there at that pick. This could be a huge addition to an already stacked Bolts defense.

Cleveland Browns – Could the Browns package Duke Johnson and Larry Ogunjobi along with a mid round pick to the Buccaneers for Gerald McCoy? I know this sounds like a wild trade, but if the Buccaneers can land a running back like Duke Johnson and a good young defensive tackle in Ogunjobi it could be a great trade for the Buccaneers. They would clear some space and pick up some solid players in exchange for a guy they no longer want on their roster.

Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals are losing Rodney Gunter in free agency more than likely as he is in Green Bay as we speak taking a visit, and Corey Peters is not getting any younger. Imagine Gerald McCoy on the Cardinals roster? Well the Cardinals are not going to part with a first round pick for him, but they do have a quarterback in Josh Rosen. Could you imagine the Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians trading Gerald McCoy and his contract to his old buddy Steve Keim in exchange for Josh Rosen and a mid round pick? The Buccaneers would then have Jameis Winston and Josh Rosen and allow them to fight for the top spot. I know this is a pipe dream, but it would be interesting…..
