Three teams who should call to land Browns RB Duke Johnson via trade

Browns running back Duke Johnson has demanded a trade, and we picked out three teams that make too much sense.

Today, Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson’s reps asked the Browns to trade him.

The Jets, Texans, and Eagles have all been interested in Johnson ever since the Browns signed running back Kareem Hunt in February, per Mary Kay Cabbott, but I could see three other teams that may make a trade for him.

The Houston Texans make a ton of sense that is the only team on the list above to me that makes sense. The Eagles already traded for the Jordan Howard, and the Jets signed Le’Veon Bell who will be their workhorse back, but I don’t see the Texans trading for him with D’Onta Foreman back. Let’s look at three teams that make a ton of sense to land Duke Johnson.

Dallas Cowboys – The Dallas Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott and behind him they really have no one. If Zeke Elliott goes down with an injury they are hit. Dallas makes too much sense, and if the Browns are giving players away like they did today with defensive end Ogbah, I would at least call if I was Dallas.

Carolina Panthers – The Panthers have CMac and outside of him a bunch of nobodies. Duke Johnson becomes an immediate weapon for Cam and the Panthers. He can split out and catch the ball from the slot as well as give McCaffrey a break. This makes a ton of sense in my opinion.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Are you kidding me, Jason Licht loves to make trades, and he should be all over this trade. His running backs on the roster right now are Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones, Duke Johnson could be the starter in Tampa, and could be had for a late round pick. This should be his landing spot.
