Could the Browns be on the verge of adding another big named player via trade?
The Cleveland Browns are a team that is not playing around this year. They have added some amazing pieces already this year, and are not afraid to spend a little money while their quarterback is still on his rookie contract.
Well there is a report coming out of Ohio that the Browns could be on the verge of adding another All-Pro player via trade. According to Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository, the Browns have “ongoing interest” in Buccaneers defensive lineman Gerald McCoy.
The Browns have Sheldon Richardson on their roster already, but could they add McCoy as well? I would not put anything past John Dorsey at this point. McCoy is signed through the next three seasons and according to the report, Bruce Arians does not want to pay McCoy the money. I know McCoy is 31 years old, but this team is not many pieces away from making a huge run at the playoffs. This is quite the turn around for a team that went 0-16 two years ago.
I will leave you with this as well, I believe Eric Berry will land on the Browns as well. A few weeks ago Art Stapleton heard the Browns had interest in Berry, and this makes tons of sense.
Remember the Chiefs released Berry, and if Berry is one hundred percent, he can work out a new deal. Being he is getting older why not sign with a team who is putting all their eggs in one basket. The Browns have quite an impressive roster on paper, the big question is can they put it together on the field?
