New England Patriots are the Super Bowl Champions
I hate to write that, but it has happened again. Tom Brady wins his six Super Bowl Championship. The game was a defensive struggle but the Patriots offense was able to get going in the fourth quarter when Sony Michel was able to score a touchdown after two amazing plays to Rob Gronkowski.
Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald was straight up manhandled by the Patriots offensive line, and both Julian Edelman and Stephon Gilmore were amazing tonight. I would expect Edelman or Gilmore to receive the MVP of the Super Bowl, but man Tom Brady has done it again.
Brady said this before the game, and unfortunately we may have to see this guy again next year……
“I’ve said before: when I suck, I’ll retire,” Brady said, as seen on NFL Network. If I feel like I can’t help our team win then what’s the point? As a great teammate, you let someone else play,” Brady said. “If there was someone else that came along that gave the team a better chance to win, that’s football. That’s how it goes, and you wanna be the one that’s the reason why your team’s winning so you can be out there playing at a high level. That’s a lot of motivation for me, and once in a while when people talk a little smack, that just gives me a little more.”
