Atlanta Falcons draft needs: 5 small schoolers who can turn the Falcons around

Julio Jones and the Falcons should be in the playoffs every year. They have tons of talent, but these five small schoolers could easily help them get over the hump.

The Atlanta Falcons have a solid team but for some reason they are not able to make it work on the field. Maybe it is coaching but maybe they are just drafting the wrong players. We feel they need to find a defensive lineman, a guard, a linebacker, a running back and a cornerback.

Many of the Falcons fans have been drooling over big-name prospects but we want to do something a little different this year. We want to focus on a few small school players who the average draft person is not talking about. So let’s get this thing started!

Kahzin Daniels, DE, Charleston University – Everyone is talking about John Cominsky and he is a solid prospect but do not forget about his counter part Kahzin Daniels. Daniels is a speed rusher with great moves and quickness. The Falcons need someone who can maintain pressure in the quarterback’s face. Daniels is that guy and he can likely be had for a late round pick or a priority free agent.

Trey Pipkins, OL, Sioux Falls – The Falcons need to protect Matt Ryan and Trey Pipkins is a 6070, 290 pound offensive tackle who can likely kick inside as well because he is athletic enough. I think the Falcons could land a steal in Pipkins because the kid has a mean streak. He will likely be drafted in the late rounds but Pipkins is a fun player to keep an eye on.

Legrand Toia, LB, Weber State – Toia is an All-American linebacker who is a little on the smaller side. The Falcons like speed at the linebacker position and Toia would be a great fit. The Utah native is a tackling machine and can really be a huge asset to the Falcons. He will likely be a free agent, but he could be a huge addition to the Falcons.

Ra’Quanne Dickens, RB, Incarnate Word – Dickens is a 5100 running back with some burst. He would be a great asset to the Falcons and their running back room. He could grow from DeVonta Freeman and could eventually replace Tevin Coleman. Dickens can catch the ball out the backfield and is a menace to bring down. He will likely be an undrafted free agent, but he could be a steal for the Birds.

Jamalcolm Liggins, CB, Dickinson State (NAIA) – Many have never heard of Jamalcolm Liggins short for Jay. He is a big and physical cornerback that stands 6020 and 200 pounds. He will get in your face and disrupt passes. I love this kids film and I do not care about the level of competition. We understand you cannot draft all small schoolers but this kid is an undrafted guy that makes a lot of sense.
