Who is your role model, and why?

My Grandfather is my role model. I say this because everything I learned about being a man I learned from him. I give all the credit to him for the man and athlete that I am today. Throughout my life he has been my father figure and he spent countless hours working with me and helping me get better at all 5 sports that I played. He got me in the church at a very early age and taught me the importance of having a good relationship with God and fulfilling his will. My Granddad has triumphed through more adversity than the average man could handle and that’s why he’s my role model.

My 8th Grade Math Teacher, Connie Payne

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Track

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Defensive Lineman named Andrew Wahl

Who is the most underrated player on your team?

Julian Johns. Most people believe that him being so small means he can’t play with the rest of us but he’s really got the heart of a lion and is a pure dog on the field.

What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life?

Meanwhile by Starlito ft. Don Trip & Young Dolph

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Evan Engram. I can play WR or Tight End because I am versatile, aggressive, and elusive enough to make any block and also get open at any time on any route.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle in my life that I had to overcome was losing my Great-Grandmother and my Uncle in about a month and a half span. Our family was big but we were tight and I was a lot closer to them than a lot of people are with their Great Grandparents and Uncles. I went through a rough patch at college and I allowed that to affect my mindset, grades, and even my play a little. My Granddad called me one day and just talked to me for hours and the conversation we had was enough to make me flip the switch and get back on the right track because him losing his Mother and his brother that fast and being able to stay strong and keep pushing motivated me to do the same.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I always have to drink a Strawberry Banana Body Armor and eat some type of gummies and either a Reese’s or a Snickers before every game.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

First round of playoffs my junior year. We were playing against Grand View University and we were driving down the field late in the fourth quarter in need of a score. I’m lined up at the wing position(TE) on 3rd and long and I run a vertical route and the defender is right on my hip. I go up right over him and he is holding my left hand down so I reach up with my right and bring the ball in for the first down and more and we end up scoring and winning the game.

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?

I have a cousin who used to play for the Tennessee Titans and every year he partners with Toys for Tots and anytime that I am home while they do these events I always help and I love giving back to the kids because my childhood wasn’t too much of a struggle so I love giving to the kids who’s family’s do struggle. He also does a Play 60 event where I get to be a Counselor/Coach every year and that is also something that I love.

New Orleans Saints

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Barack Obama, Vince Lombardi, Drew Brees
