Who is your role model, and why?

My role model is my father for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest reason was that he showed me how to be a man. He taught me that no matter how hard life hits you, you have to get up and keep going. His words inspire me to not only strive to be a better football player every day, but also a better person.

My 4th grade teacher Mr. Marts

Baseball and wrestling

What is the one song that would fire you up before the biggest game of your life?

“Purpose” by Justin Bieber

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Leonard Williams because he has the strength to play anywhere on the D – line and the speed to play outside, which is similar to my playing style.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle in my life was not having the grades to go to UCLA right out of high school. I overcame it by taking the great opportunity that junior college gives its students and worked to prove that my grades there were a better reflection of who I grew to become.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Yes, my pregame ritual is to go out onto the field and get a good sweat in as I envision myself making plays in the game.

What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?

My strip sack to start the game vs San Jose State.

What is the coolest thing you ever did off the field for someone else?

A friend came to me, said he was struggling and was close to giving up in school. It was really great to see my words help and influence him get through that hard time and to see how happy he ended up being because he didn’t give up.
