Five teams that Daryl Washington could walk in and help big time

Daryl Washington still has not applied for reinstatement according to NFL officials.
Daryl Washington could help these teams big time

Yesterday, the Arizona Cardinals let Daryl Washington walk after they agreed it would be best to take different routes.  Now that Washington is a free agent, we looked at five teams that could really benefit from his presence.

Here are my teams from 5 to 1, who I would call if I was Washington’s agent.

The Baltimore Ravens are my number 5 team.  They have been a team known to pick up a veteran linebacker and put him in the roster. Guys like Daryl Smith have been amazing in the Ravens defense and I feel Daryl Washington can come in right now and help push them over the top.  He would compete with Correa, but Washington is a better player in my opinion.

Next up is the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have did a great job at placing talent on their team.  They have cap space and let’s face it, Daryl Washington is way better than Christian Kirksey. I love this upgrade for the Browns.

Number 3 is the Green Bay Packers.  I really like Joe Thomas, but all three of their linebackers are not well known. They do not have much depth or veteran presence at the position. Daryl Washington could come in day one and immediately change the atmosphere of the locker room. Plus he will have a chip on his shoulder.

New York Giants are number 2.  I believe they could easily sign a player like Washington.  The G-Men need help at the LB position and I feel they did not address it.  Washington would be a great addition to the G-Men who have an amazing offense on paper.

I believe the best fit is with John Elway in Denver.  The Broncos like to rush the passer, and Daryl Washington is one of the best pass rushers from the Inside Linebacker position over the last five years and he has played in the past two years.  The guy is healthy and he is way better than Todd Davis.  I think this makes the most sense.

We used the depth charts at Ourlads.com.  My guy Dan Shonka (former NFL scout) does a great job at putting the charts together.
