DEAD TIME AT THE DEADLINE
DEAD TIME AT THE DEADLINE
The 4PM ET NFL trade deadline came and went without any transactions occurring. There were reports earlier in the day that the New York Jets were actively shopping DE Sheldon Richardson and the Cowboys were interested suitors, but the asking price was too much for a deal to get done. Trade speculation of CB Joe Haden being moved from the Browns was shut down earlier in the day when a Cleveland source indicated that the team would not be shopping any of its players. Just 30 minutes before the deadline there were reports that the Eagles were interested in WR Torrey Smith, but we’re only willing to offer a fifth round draft pick for the wide receiver. The 49ers were seeking a third round pick for Smith, which led to no deal taking place. The only significant transaction that took place this week was the trade that sent Pro Bowl LB Jamie Collins to the Browns for a conditional third round pick that could turn into a fourth round pick for the Patriots.
