BROWNS TRADE FOR JAMIE COLLINS
BROWNS TRADE FOR JAMIE COLLINS
With just one day left before the NFL trade deadline, the Browns made the trade for LB Jamie Collins. The Browns, who have yet to win a game this season, traded a compensatory 3rd round draft pick to the Patriots for the Pro Bowl linebacker.
New England was reportedly having trouble negotiating a long-term contract with Collins, who becomes a free agent after the season. This move gives Cleveland an immediate starter on a porous defense and it gives New England some compensation for a player that was likely to walk in Free Agency.
Collins is a candidate for the franchise tag this spring if a long-term deal cannot be worked out by the beginning of free agency.
