Ravens place six veterans on PUP list including Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil
Baltimore Ravens standouts Terrell Suggs, Steve Smith and Elvis Dumervil were among six players who will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list. This does not mean the players are out the first six weeks of the season. This just allows the Ravens to allow them to rest, if they place them on the PUP list to start the season the players would have to miss the first six weeks of the regular season.
Suggs, a six-time Pro Bowl linebacker, and Smith, a 37-year-old receiver, both tore Achilles tendons last season. Dumervil, who had six sacks in 2015, is recovering from an offseason foot surgery.
In announcing the moves Saturday, the Ravens also placed receiver Breshad Perriman, running back Trent Richardson and cornerback Jumal Rolle on the PUP list.
