Patriots lose a player for the entire year with a torn ACL
This week the New England Patriots lost a player they considered a very good depth option for the season.
Michael Williams suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during practice, a team source told The Boston Globe’s Jim McBride on Thursday.
McBride reported Williams likely will be placed on injured reserve for the injury that will almost certainly end the tight end’s 2016 season before it began.
Williams was a former Alabama tight end that was converted to the offensive line with the Detroit Lions. He has since returned back to the tight end position with the Patriots.
