Miller expressed regrets to his head coach that he would not be attending the Broncos’ offseason program that begins Monday because he doesn’t have a contract, according to several sources close to the player.
Denver is reportedly offering Miller close to $18 million per year in a long-term contract. Klis says that the Broncos and Miller’s agent, Joby Branion, have spoken in recent days and even exchanged proposals on a new deal.
The Broncos did submit an exclusive franchise tag tender of $14.129 million to Miller for the 2016 season. He has not signed the tender because it is considered well below his projected value on the open market.
