Not one team put in a waiver claim for #Patriots former first round pick Dominque Easley

Yesterday, the New England Patriots released defensive tackle Dominique Easley, and today he went without being claimed. Easley, the 2014-first-round pick whom the Patriots waived yesterday, cleared waivers today, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That makes him an unrestricted free agent.
Surprising news: No one claimed former #Patriots first-rounder DL Dominique Easley, source said. He’s a free agent

While many think it is surprising news, I do not think it is a huge story. The reason is Easley was due quite a bit of money on the back end of his rookie contract. By him not being claimed teams can bring him in and sign him immediately, but the price will be a lot cheaper. With his past injuries, he may only be given a prove it contract.
