#Chiefs lost their appeal for tampering charges; Fines were reduced, still lose 2 draft picks
The Kansas City Chiefs lost their appeal to the NFL yesterday for tampering with the NFL’s rules to negotiate with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. The Chiefs lost two draft picks, and will not get them back. They did however have their fines reduced. NFL took the Chiefs third-round draft pick in 2016, and their sixth-round pick in the 2017 draft.
The team’s fine was reduced from $250,000 to $200,000, and coach Andy Reid’s fine was reduced from $75,000 to $60,000. However, other parts of the penalty, including a $25,000 fine to general manager John Dorsey, remain intact.
