Cardinals place original round tender on safety Tony Jefferson

Arizona Cardinals have placed an original round tender on safety Tony Jefferson.

They tendered Jefferson with a right-of-first-refusal offer worth $1.671 million for the 2016 season. That allows the Cardinals to match any other offers Jefferson receives, but if Arizona opts not to match, it won’t receive compensation for Jefferson, who signed as an undrafted free agent from the University of Oklahoma in 2013.

The Cardinals probably feel no one will make an offer for Jefferson, but he could be an intriguing player for several teams.
