Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will undergo surgery to have a plate inserted into his collarbone.  Cowboys QB Tony Romo confirmed that he’ll have plate inserted in his collarbone, but he’s not worried about the recovery time, per Drew Davison.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will undergo surgery within the next two weeks on his troublesome left clavicle. Brandon George reported that Romo was “leaning” towards undergoing a Mumford procedure on his left clavicle rather than attaching a plate to his collarbone.

The surgery can be performed through open or arthroscopic procedure. A regimen of physical therapy following surgery is prescribed and most patients experience full recovery in 8 to 10 weeks post-surgery. Mumford surgery is not a complicated surgery. It is a fairly simple and common medical procedure most patients who underwent the surgery spoke of pain reduction. The success rate between 75% – 90% is very common in mumford procedure.
