According to USA Sports, the arrests in 2015 have dropped less than half of what they usually are. According to a recent report by the USA Today arrest database the NFL has only had 35 arrests in 2015. That is pretty good and the lowest annual number on record since 2000 and less than half of what the league had nine years ago, according to a database of player arrests and citations kept by USA TODAY Sports.
The NFL has been very hard on taking guys with a past record. When teams deem a player as problematic, they are staying away from him. I do not know if that comes from the GM himself or the owner. One thing is for sure, the owners hate getting that phone call that one of their stars were arrested for something. It can really be a problem for the team if their players keep getting arrested. The bad publicity is killing some teams, so they are trying to limit it.
