NFL Draft Diamonds Week 1 Picks and Predictions

palmerLast year, NFL Draft Diamonds finished the season with a pretty good record. We are not saying we can read palms or tell the future, but here are our week 1 picks and predictions.

Green Bay Packers v. Chicago Bears

We have the Green Bay Packers beating the Chicago Bears. Aaron Rodgers receivers struggle with bad drops, but the team is able to rely on Eddie Lacy to carry the weight. 21-14

Kansas City Chiefs v. Houston Texans

The quarterback issue is still a problem for the Texans, and while JJ Watt still finishes with three sacks, the Chiefs win 14-13.

Cleveland Browns v. New York Jets

The New York Jets win their first game of the season.  The Jets defense is able to pick off Josh McCown three times, and Chris Ivory goes for over a 100. Jets win 28-17

Indianapolis Colts v. Buffalo Bills

Andrew Luck is too much for the Buffalo Bills as Rex Ryan loses his first game as a head coach of the Bills.  Colts 35-24

Miami Dolphins v. Washington Redskins

The Miami Dolphins have a field day against Kirk Cousins. After the second quarter Kirk Cousins pulls a hamstring, and Colt McCoy throws two interceptions. Could we see RG3 week 2? Dolphins 21-10

Carolina Panthers v. Jacksonville Jaguars

Cam Newton and the Panthers win a lousy football game with a field goal in the fourth quarter by Graham Gano. Panthers 9-6

Seattle Seahawks v. St. Louis Rams

Nick Foles comes out and shines against the Seahawks Chancellor-less secondary.  Foles throws darts on consecutive drives to both Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey, but it is not enough to stop the “COULD HAVE BEEN” Super Bowl Champions.  24-17 Seahawks

Arizona Cardinals v. New Orleans Saints

Arizona Cardinals blow out the Saints and Carson Palmer has a career day throwing for over 400 yards.  56-21 Cardinals win big

Detroit Lions v. San Diego Chargers

This is the best game of the week. The San Diego Chargers force a double overtime when Stevie Johnson hauls in a 6 yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers. Danny Woodhead scores the go ahead touchdown in double overtime to cap the win. 42-35 Chargers

Tennessee Titans v. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jameis Winston struggles early throwing 2 interceptions, but the Buccaneers running game carried by Doug Martin leads the Pirates to the victory.  Buccaneers 14-Titans – 13

Cincinnati Bengals v Oakland Raiders

Andy Dalton shreds the Raiders secondary for 330 yards passing, and four touchdowns. Amari Cooper of the Raiders caught six passes for 118 yards and touchdown, but it was not enough.  38-17 Bengals

Denver Broncos v. Baltimore Ravens

Denver Broncos win in a defensive battle. Peyton Manning looks lost in Gary Kubiak’s new system but they are somehow able to sneak with a win. 18-14

New York Giants v. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle’s explodes for 180 yards on the ground in his first game taking over for DeMarco Murray.  Randle and the Cowboys win easily 30-14

Philadelphia Eagles v. Atlanta Falcons

Everyone thinks the Eagles and Falcons game is going over, but we think differently. Falcons and Eagles both struggle to get into the endzone and the Eagles win on a 54 yard field in closing seconds of the game to top the Falcons at home. 23-20 Eagles

Minnesota Vikings v. San Francisco 49ers

Adrian Peterson runs for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns in his first game back from his year long suspension. The 49ers have no answer for the power back from Oklahoma.  The Vikings win easily 42-13 in a Monday Night Massacre
