NFL Draft Diamonds Week 1 Diamond Awards
We are giving out five game balls today for amazing play yesterday. We are going to make this interesting, because there were some amazing individual performances, and there was also some amazing team performances. So here are the individual game balls:
Week One Diamonds:
Marcus Mariota – The rookie was phenomenal in his first career game, tearing up Lovie Smith’s defense. The kid tied Fran Tarkenton with 4 touchdown passes in the first half which is a Titans record. Mariota was a beast and punished the Buccaneers and Jameis Winston by putting up a 40 burger.
Keenan Allen – 15 receptions? WOW, this kid was awesome yesterday and he deserves to be given a game ball. Allen was a stud last night, and helped the Chargers beat the Lions. Allen was targeted 17 times and caught 15 for 166 yards. Give him a BALL!
Tyrod Taylor – Tyrod Taylor was in his first career start with the Buffalo Bills, and he looked cooler than a fan. The former V-Tech quarterback was very accurate, and was able to get things done on his feet as well. Bills win a huge game.
Tony Romo – Are you serious….. Did you see the game? Romo’s new name is Dr. Romo, because he was a surgeon on the final drive last night. He cut up the Giants defense and won the game in amazing fashion.
Travis Kelce – The Chiefs tight end was looking like a miniature Rob Gronkowski. He finished with two scores, and over a 100 plus yards.
My Diamond Vault Team Award goes to the St. Louis Rams defense. The Rams won all three phases of the game yesterday and they upset the “Should Have Been” Super Bowl Champion Seahawks. I love the way the Rams played, it was amazing.
I am going to give out a special “Diamond” to a fan base this week as well.
The #BillsMafia was amazing this week, and the fans were stupid loud all game long. Rex Ryan called out the fans and the fans showed up. Andrew Luck had delay of game penalties, had to call timeouts, and the Bills fan base put pressure on the future Hall of Famer.
