Buffalo Bills cut TE Nick O’Leary; Team re-signs veteran QB Matt Cassel

Matt Cassel is expected to start in the first preseason game for Buffalo
Matt Cassel has been re-signed by the Buffalo Bills

Today the Buffalo Bills brought back veteran quarterback Matt Cassel. The move had to be to save money. The Bills were not going to pay Cassel 4 plus million to be a back-up. The Bills likely restructured the veteran quarterbacks pay.

In a corresponding move the team released draft pick Nick O’Leary. O’Leary could land on the practice squad of the Bills, but that may not happen either.

I am a huge fan of O’Leary and am shocked by the release, but the Bills did have five tight ends on their roster.
