San Francisco 49ers trade TE Asante Cleveland to the Patriots
The tight end crop in the NFL is poor right now, which led the New England Patriots to trade for tight end Asante Cleveland. Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports that the 49ers have agreed to trade TE Asante Cleveland to the Patriots.
Maiocco just mentioned that NFL teams had been in contact with the 49ers regarding some of their backup tight ends, with Derek Carrier also among the players drawing interest.
The 49ers had 7 tight ends on their roster, so it will be interesting to see what they get in return for Cleveland.
