If deal for Luke Kuechly is not done before the season, it will have to wait
The Carolina Panthers have locked up Greg Olsen, Thomas Davis and Cam Newton already in the off-season, but they still have one contract they want to get done. That deal is for linebacker Luke Kuechly. The Carolina Panthers general manager sent out a clear message today regarding the contract situation of his players.
The Panthers G.M. told Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review that he’s not prepared to negotiate for anyone once the season starts.
“I will not negotiate in-season. Once the regular season begins, that’s it,” Gettleman said.
Luke Kuechly is the next in line, but Gettleman saying he won’t discuss it during the season means his Pro Bowler will either be signed in the next seven weeks or not until the off-season.
