Why you should be excited about the Chiefs rookie minicamp this weekend
The Chiefs have a rookie minicamp this Saturday, Sunday ending Monday. The most important thing is that we will get a glimpse of our new draft class. That means seeing our first round selection, Marcus Peters for the first time. After this, he and Steven Nelson won’t be available due to an NFL rule that says rookies cannot participate until their class graduates. Both Oregon and Oregon State have graduation dates in mid June. They will miss the rest of OTA. The next time they will be present is late June for the mandatory camp of the entire team that are under contract. So, what can we expect to see? I think everyone is going to be ready to go. The rookies will be seeking an opportunity to prove they were worthy of their draft class. In addition, if that doesn’t have you excited and ready to see them, then you are not a fan. That is my opinion; however, you must also consider the undrafted free agents the Chiefs signed and recently announced. If you want more on the undrafted guys, scan up and read a little bit about them.
Anyway, I’m super excited to read how they do. In addition, we will have an in depth list of things that happened here on NFL Draft Diamonds. I know @TerezPaylor will be there and is a very good judge of talent. Check out his twitter and see what I mean. Until next time, enjoy the weekend!
I will be attending National Football Post’s Intermediate Scouting Class via webinar. I just finished Intro to scouting a few days ago. I can’t wait to see what @greggabriel has to say. Moreover, I feel proud that I guessed correctly that Clive Walford would be taken in the third round of the NFL draft. I will tell you some of what I learned Monday. Have a lovely weekend.
