The Buffalo Bills were expected to make an offer to Brandon Spikes, but that could not have been true. According to Tom Pelissero from USA Today, the Patriots gave Brandon Spikes a 25 thousand dollar signing bonus, but no other guarantees.  The deal he signed was for up to 2 million dollars if he meets the incentives.

Brandon Spikes’ deal with #Patriots included a $25,000 signing bonus. No other guarantees. Worth up to $2 million with incentives.

Basically a 1 year deal worth 2 million dollars, for one of the best run stuffing linebackers in the NFL.  I do not care if he is no longer a 3 down backer, he is the best run stuffing backer in the league and I have to take that into consideration when you look at how poor that deal is.

Spikes: $25K to sign, $50K workout bonus, $800K salary, $25K Week 1 bonus, $200K in per-game bonuses, $900K play-time incentives. #Patriots
