Extra Points could change this week; Here are a few team proposals
Extra Points in the NFL are very easy to hit and the owners are meeting this week to talk about changing the extra point.
Here are three of the proposals according to NFL Trade Rumors.
- The Patriots proposal consists of snapping the ball from the 15-yard line for a one-point kick or placing the ball at the two-yard line for a two-point conversion. It’s worth mentioning that a kick from the 15-yard line would result in a 32- or 33-yard extra point attempt.
- The Eagles also proposed using the 15-yard line for extra point attempts, but instead moving the ball to the one-yard line for two-point conversions. On top of that, Philadelphia suggested that the defense should be able to score points by returning a turnover for a two-point conversion.
- The last proposal comes from the competition committee, who suggested the same thing as the Eagles, but would instead place the ball for two-point conversions at the two-yard line.
