What is your name?
Christopher Harrison King
What is your Height/Weight?
5’10 – 196lbs
What is your position?
Defensive Back (Cornerback)
Where do you play college football?
Henderson State University
How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?
3 Universities
How did you choose your school?
I felt like it was the best opportunity God had for me.
Where are you from?
New Orleans, Louisiana
Who is your role model, and why?
My biggest role model would have to be my father. A man with an extremely extraordinary resilient work ethic that sacrificed everything for his family before we were even born.
Have any scouts met with you yet, and if so what are they saying?
Yes a couple of scouts have. That I looked really good in my position drills and that they are impressed with my highlight tape.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
I ran track and was also a powerlifter.
Did you play any other positions in football?
Cornerback, Nickel and Safety.
At your position, what separates you from others?
My ability to break down film, my opponent, my understanding of schemes and putting it all into action.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
Absolutely everything. I probably spend majority of my time in general studying the game, wide receivers, defensive backs, quarterbacks, routes, footwork, releases, press coverage, off man, hand movements, feet placements, specific tendencies of my opponent as well as trying to get inside of why, how, and what my opponent is thinking of.
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
Throughout the years I have went against a lot of great players such as Ruben Randell, Michael Ford, Eddie Lacy, Eric Reed, and Jeremy Hill but the toughest player I face is myself. Day in and day out I make it a priority to challenge and push myself not only physically on the field but also mentally and spiritually.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Honestly I can’t just choose one player, I like to design my game in a way that resembles the intensity energy and focus of Deion Sanders, the patience of Darrelle Revis, the confidence and attention to detail of Richard Sherman, the passion of Brian Dawkins, and the quality of leadership of Earl Thomas III.
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest obstacle would be going through Hurricane Katrina. Only by the Grace of God, and now looking back on it everything worked out for the best. Psalms 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way.”
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Prayer and relaxing listening to genuinely good music.
What is your biggest strength?
My biggest strength would be my Faith in Christ, myself and my extremely unique work ethic.
What is your biggest weakness?
My biggest weakness would be that I am sometimes too hard on myself. I have to remind myself that it’s not about perfection but about the constant progression of getting better each and every day.
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
I may not be the fastest, biggest, strongest or smartest, no one man is, but I can promise with everything in my bones that I will be one of the best investments you have ever made. I have a massive thirst and hunger to be the best player, student, person and professional I can possibly be. I will not only push myself mentally, physically and spiritually but I will motivate and inspire those around me to do the same on and off the field. Phenomenal things are destined to happen in the future as a result of investing in me.
Who was your favorite player and NFL team growing up?
Michael Vick without a doubt, he changed the game to what it is today. Of course the home team the New Orleans Saints! Who Dat!!
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
Martin Luther King Jr., because of how he changed the world through his vision that is continuing to be passed down through generations. Will Smith because of his work ethic, passion and dedication to what he loves to do. Benjamin Watson because of the Man of God he is on and off the field.
