Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles wants to be Offensive Player of the Year

Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs has ran for 3 consecutive 1000 yard seasons for the Chiefs, but that is not enough. The former Texas Longhorn runner wants to be named the AFC offensive player of the year. That is his goal for the 2015 season according to ESPN.
“I want to be (AFC) offensive player of the year,” Charles said, per ESPN. “That’s always my goal, every year my goal. I want to come back to (Kansas City’s annual) 101 Banquet for the Chiefs award. I want to come back as AFC player of the year. That’s what I’ve been wanting to do. I think I almost got there. Peyton Manning had an awesome season (in 2013), and he beat me out.”
I believe that the Chiefs will need Charles to have a huge season if they want to win. They need help on the offensive side of the ball, and I would expect the Chiefs to draft offense early and often. I would not be surprised if the Chiefs draft a wide out with their first round pick, because their receiving core was horrid last season. They were the only team in the NFL that did not have one receiver score a touchdown, so if Charles wants to win the award, he is going to need some help around him.
