Should we believe everything that Chip Kelly says as the head coach of the Eagles?
There have been many reports saying that the Philadelphia Eagles are not interested in trading up for Marcus Mariota, but do you believe that? The other day Chip Kelly made a move to acquire a quarterback that has been knocked out of two straight seasons with an ACL tear to his left knee, and he is stating that Sam Bradford is his guy. Well honestly I do not believe it. Let’s take a look back to December 2nd, 2013, when Chip Kelly told the Eagles and their fans that Nick Foles would be the starting quarterback for the next 1000 years.
“He’s the starting quarterback for the next 1,000 years here.”
—Chip Kelly, on Nick Foles on Dec. 2, 2013.
While 1000 years was already believed to be false, it is interesting to think that fifteen months later, Foles is gone.
Remember, at the time, Foles was 6-1 as the Eagles’ starting quarterback. He had a Passer rating of 125.2, and a Touchdown-to-interception ratio of 19-0.
Now Foles is a St. Louis Ram, so I would not put too much belief in what Kelly says. I honestly still believe that Sam Bradford will be part of a packaged deal for the number 2 pick in the NFL Draft. I would not be surprised if Kelly trades Bradford along with a couple firsts to move up and select his Oregon Duck Marcus Mariota.
What do you think Eagles fans? DO you Trust Chip’s word?
