Patriots place Franchise Tag on their kicker; Bye Bye McCourty?
As Mike Weiss of ESPN Boston reported this morning the Patriots decided to tag their kicker over their starting safety.
@AdamSchefter: Patriots placed their franchise tag on kicker Stephen Gostkowski, per a league source.
The Patriots have a tough decision to make, because they would like to keep their secondary intact. If McCoyrty is not signed expect him to be heavily pursued.
@AdamSchefter: Unless Patriots re-sign him before next week, Devin McCourty is going to be one hotly-pursued free agent.
