If Brian Hoyer’s agent is smart, he agrees to a deal right now with the Texans
The Houston Texans are talking to Brian Hoyer heavy as well as Ryan Mallett, but the team has been hitting a negotiating wall when it comes to Mallett. There are rumors that the Texans are “zeroed” in on Hoyer, and if that is the case, I would immediately agree to terms with the Texans if I was his agent.
The reason is the team has a glaring need at the quarterback position, and they are willing to give you a starting position. You have a very solid running back, as well as wide outs. The Texans defense has the best player in the NFL, and they are a very solid team.
The team was getting wins with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, which makes me confident that Hoyer will win them games in Houston. According to Jeff Darlington, Hoyer is looking for a fresh start, so if he is smart he would agree to the deal. That push the team from looking at Mallett. If it does you just basically gave your client a shot to start and get paid as a starter.
Jeff Darlington of NFL Media reports that the team has “zeroed in” on Brian Hoyer, who is looking for a “fresh start” after the Browns signed Josh McCown to go with Johnny Manziel.
