Dent was acquired by the Texans when they sent quarterback T.J. Yates to the Atlanta Falcons in a offseason trade prior to the opening of training camp.
Dent appeared in 15 games for the Texans, starting in seven, and tallied 38 total tackles and a sack. Dent picked up the slack when he was inserted into the starting lineup next to Brian Cushing.
