Eagles give Chris Polk a low ball offer; If another team signs him to an offer sheet, ZERO compensation
The Philadelphia Eagles are making some pretty interesting moves. Many of their fans are scratching their heads, but Chip Kelly is making moves you do on a video game.
Today the Eagles gave the low tender offer to restricted free agent running back Chris Polk, according to NJ.com.
If another team signs Polk to an offer sheet and the Eagles do not match the deal, the Eagles get zero compensation.
If the Eagles viewed retaining Polk as a high priority, they could have offered him the higher $2 million tender, which would have landed them a 2nd round pick if another team tried signing him. I guess the Eagles view Polk as expendable.
