Could Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel sit out the year?
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is a very solid football player when he is on the field, but almost two months ago Johnny Football, turned himself into a drug rehabilitation center. He has not left that facility from what I am hearing, meaning he really needed the help.
Many players that attend a drug rehab facility are usually out in a few weeks, but with Johnny Manziel still there, could the Browns be prepared to move on without him? Not saying the Browns would cut him, but could they let him get healthy before making a return?
The Browns have been signing quarterbacks left and right and right now have several players on the roster who could start. The team has Connor Shaw, Josh McCown and recently signed Thad Lewis. Many are probably wondering why the team signed Thad Lewis yesterday when they have Manziel. I think that is their safety net.
The reason the team is signing Lewis, is likely because Manziel is still in the drug rehab facility. The team supports Manziel and want him to get better, but they could be preparing for the bad news. I am not saying he will sit out the year, but if he has been in a rehab facility this wrong people there was a serious issue. It is great that he is getting help, but this could be a very big problem if he is not out for the beginning of camp.
