The 49ers on Monday signed tight end Derek Carrier to a two-year contract extension through the 2017 season. The deal is worth up to $3.3 million, according to a Ian Rapoport.

Carrier, whose was set to become a restricted free agent next off-season, appeared in 11 games with the 49ers in 2014. He caught nine passes for 105 yards. He appeared in five games for the 49ers in 2013 but did not catch a pass.
