Redskins will not bring back A.J. Smith to their front office
A.J. Smith has spent the last two years working for the Redskins as a personnel consultant to team president Bruce Allen. Smith, who joined the Redskins after being fired as the Chargers’ General Manager, said this weekend that he was unable to come to agreement on a deal to return for a third year, according to Pro Football Talk.
“A contract could not be worked out,” Smith said, via the Providence Journal. “I was too high. They were too low. We wished each other the very best and parted ways. Just another NFL business transaction.”
Smith is a very solid football mind, who could land another job soon if interested.
