Rams release veteran defensive tackle Kendall Langford; Save 6 million in cap
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that the defensive tackle Kendall Langford has been released, saving the team $6 million in cap space.
@jthom1: Rams have released DT Kendall Langford. Saves $6 million in salary cap space.
@jthom1: Langford has been starter his first two seasons in St. Louis, but lost starting job to Aaron Donald last season.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported in October that teams were “making calls” on Langford prior to the trade deadline. Now the rest of the league has a chance to swoop up the versatile veteran who lost his starting job this autumn to Defensive Rookie of the Year Aaron Donald.
This is a good move for the Rams, but should they have dealt him last year rather than just cuttng him? I am sure Langford will be called and signed by a team soon.
